OSET 2024 is done! …and our leaders were there,…

  • October 7, 2024

From September 13-18, members from our executive leadership team were joined by members of our Clinical Excellence team for the annual Orthopaedic Summit Evolving Techniques conference in Las Vegas, NV. While CEO Sharon Vitti spoke with a panel on Investor Day, CGO Scott Gregerson joined HOPCo’s Tom Harte onstage for a discussion on value-based care. ATI’s Clinical Excellence team members were also present, delivering new research on various topics and showcasing our thought leadership in the PT industry.

SVP, Clinical Excellence Charles Thigpen co-chaired the planning of the Ortho Rehab track as well as presented on shoulder instability, arm injury risk factors, complicated cases for return to sport, and small rotator cuff tear management. VP, Clinical Development Tom Denninger also took the stage, discussing neck and shoulder pain differential diagnosis and the use of pain science with shoulder patients. Director of Care Quality and Innovation Adam Lutz did not speak but made his expertise known by contributing to ⅔ of ATI’s research posters. Finally, Sr Dir, Practice Standards and Continuous Quality Improvement Ellen Shanley spoke about managing non-operative shoulder instability and return to sport for the same condition, elbow injuries in youth athletes, the role of the trunk and lower extremity in pitching performance, and return to sport in rotator cuff repair and shoulder arthroplasty. In addition to a series of successful presentations, Ellen also walked away with an Honorable Mention on her poster presentation, “Professional Baseball Pitchers’ Patterns of Use and Results of Weighted Ball Training: An Interim Study.”

If ATI’s onstage impact was not enough, our Business Development and clinic ops teams were present to connect with over 1500 orthopaedic surgeons and 150 physical therapists, as well as three ATI-sponsored DPT students from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas and Tufts University. The entire team was also there to celebrate three ATI alums, who also presented at this year’s conference: Lane Bailey, who is a PhD program graduate, and is now the Director of Research and Education at Memorial Herman Health System, Twin Cities Orthopedic’s Russ Lineville, who was a sports residency graduate, and Director of Minor League Medical Services for the Kansas City Royals Justin Hahn, who graduated from ATI’s Upper Extremity Athlete Fellowship program.

“There’s a reason that OrthoSummit is my favorite conference of the year,” VP, Clinical Development Tom Denninger said. “There are many opportunities for providers to connect and gain insights from surgical and therapy leaders. Plus, with the turnout from ATI, this year’s conference allowed us to really showcase our commitment to quality care and leadership in the musculoskeletal space. It’s an exciting moment for our entire team and organization.”

We extend our heartfelt thanks to our entire team for their invaluable contributions to the event and dedication to advancing our profession and enhancing ATI’s reputation within the industry.
