ATI Sports Medicine Continues Partnership with Chicago Public Schools

ATI Physical Therapy, LLC, spans 24 different states, and across our footprint, ATI’s Sports Medicine division supplies high schools, colleges, and universities with Athletic Trainers (AT). One unique partnership includes a relationship with the Chicago Public School (CPS) for four consecutive years. In the CPS system, ATI employs 21 full-time Athletic Trainers to provide care to elementary students, high school athletes, school district employees, and community members, and our teams work with all 82 District-Managed High Schools in some way.

Currently, ATI has seven ATs assigned to one high school full-time and fourteen athletic trainers designated as “District Athletic Trainers.” These team members cover city-wide games and events at multiple locations and are assigned to one or two schools to provide on-site after-school service a few days a week. Their commitment ensures the community’s confidence in our services.

“There are many barriers, but with passion and innovation, we are finding solutions to overcome and be proactive,” Sports Medicine Manager Eric Buck, who oversees the Chicago Public Schools’ team, said. “We feel that every student-athlete deserves an athletic trainer, and as we continue to grow our team and expand our impactful reach, this goal becomes closer and closer to actuality.”

ATI’s partnership with Chicago Public Schools aims to redefine athletic training services through comprehensive and equitable healthcare for all. Our teams seek to provide solutions to increase access to proper healthcare, improve healthcare literacy and community awareness, and educate on the impact of athletic training and sports medicine.

Within our Illinois-based physical therapy clinics and our Sports Medicine teams active in our communities, ATI continually demonstrates its commitment to creating accessible and excellent patient care.
