ATI Foundation Provides for a King

Plano, Texas. The ATI Foundation gives back to community members in a big way. One of our most recent recipients, Zak, is a 17-year-old man with Cerebral Palsy whose bright smile and cheerful demeanor makes him a force in his own right.

Back in May, he received a $10,000 grant award from the Foundation to put towards purchasing a wheelchair-accessible van. ATI Foundation Board President and VP of Talent Acquisition Thad Satterfield and ATI Foundation Director Shelley Maxwell were both in attendance when Zak received his check and was thanked personally by his mother, Jaime: “I can’t thank you and the ATI Foundation enough. We are eternally grateful.”

However, due to rising costs and a limited income, the family would still be left with car payments. As a result, Zak and his mother continued forward. With the Foundation’s assistance, a GoFundMe account and other local fundraising, Zak and his family were finally presented with a van this past October at the Coleyville Heritage High School.

Zak’s story has impacted many, especially those surrounding him. That positive attitude and smile brought the community together to help him live better and won him the homecoming crown at his high school.
