Understanding MIPS: Why it’s Important for Providers and Patients

ATI Physical Therapy recently announced its fifth consecutive year, earning an “Exceptional” rating from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). The rating is a testament to the entire organization’s dedication to providing quality patient care while achieving its purpose of making every life an active life. However, the MIPS rating is more than accolades for clinicians. It was designed to reward Medicare providers for high-quality patient care and outcomes with the aim of lowering healthcare costs.

OSET 2024 is done! …and our leaders were there,…

From September 13-18, members from our executive leadership team were joined by members of our Clinical Excellence team for the annual Orthopaedic Summit Evolving Techniques conference in Las Vegas, NV. While CEO Sharon Vitti spoke with a panel on Investor Day, CGO Scott Gregerson joined HOPCo’s Tom Harte onstage for a discussion on value-based care. ATI’s Clinical Excellence team members were also present, delivering new research on various topics and showcasing our thought leadership in the PT industry.

From Student Observation to Clinic Director: Katie Ecklund Finds…

Clinic Director Katie Ecklund set out on her own path, starting as a student observer with ATI while at university and continually finding her way back to one of our clinics as a newly designated Clinic Director.

100% Specialty Exam Pass Rate for our 2023 Residency…

Our residents have always been top-notch (i.e., our residency programs have a 96% first-time pass rate), but our 2023 residency graduates stepped up this year: All our 2023 Residency Graduates have passed their Sports and Orthopedic Board examination this year! 

“We are so proud of their hard work during their residency year and the months following to pass this challenging exam,” Clinical Development Program Lead Jackie Davenport said. “A few other clinicians across the country also sat for these board exams in March, and I wish them big congrats.” 

Paving the Way in Hybrid Care with HOPCo

As one of the country’s largest Management Services Organizations (MSO), ATI’s relationship with HOPCo is not just about expansion, but also about enhancing patient access and growing our hybrid team-based care model in our Arizona market. Our teams driving this initiative are proud to share an update on the collaboration.

Embracing Total Wellness to Prevent Burnout

Do you feel disengaged at work? Are you exhausted and uninterested in your job? For some, it is a fleeting feeling after a long weekend. For others, it may be symptoms of something much larger. Occupational burnout can happen to anyone, but in healthcare, specifically in physical therapy, 45 to 71% of clinicians report feelings of burnout depending on their area of focus. But there is help – by identifying the signs and symptoms, clinicians and organizations can help prevent and recover from occupational burnout.

Advocating for the PT Profession

As part of our unwavering commitment to our patients and clinicians, ATI partnered to found the Alliance for Physical Therapy Quality and Innovation (APTQI) in 2014 and continues serving as a board member with other outpatient therapy companies. These partnerships allow ATI to leverage our size with other like-minded companies to advocate for reimbursement, changes in authorization/credentialing, state board regulations, and other essential factors that influence industry progress. In April, CEO Sharon Vitti traveled to Washington, D.C., with members of APTA and APTQI to advocate for the SAFE and REDUCE Acts to improve PT access and reimbursement.

Creating Direct Access and Care Through ONE ATI

  • April 23, 2024

In Q1 of 2023, our Sports Medicine team was hard at work piloting the “One ATI Care Pathway.” It was an opportunity to empower our Athletic Trainers to use their expertise as MSK experts and to emphasize what Physical Therapists can do as primary care providers.

Even in the program’s early stages, it showed promise. Over 150 athletes benefitted from the care pathway at the onset, leading to it becoming a permanent fixture in August of 2023.
